 Public Engagement Officer

Job summary

The Public Engagement Officer is responsible for the management of specific projects for the New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity, under the direction of the Executive Director. Tasks include planning, documentation, communication, implementation and evaluation of assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • To implement and coordinate assigned projects, according to a work plan and a budget;
  • Establish and implement a public engagement strategy to support pay equity;
  • Coordinate the Coalition’s communications in social and traditional media;
  • Work in partnership with other provincial organizations;
  • Conduct research to support assigned projects (such as focus groups, document research, interviews);
  • Document activities and results of the assigned projects, evaluate the results in collaboration with our partners and produce the required reports for the Board of Directors and the funding organizations;
  • Carry required administrative tasks to support the organization’s operations.

 Qualifications

 Education

  • University Degree in Social Sciences, Communication and Public Relations, or a related field.

 Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Feminist analysis
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Experience in community and political action
  • Research and analytical skills
  • Strategic thinking
  • Written and oral communication skills in both official languages
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Good knowledge of New Brunswick
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Driving license

 Working Conditions

  •  35 hours a week starting on February 13, 2017
  • Starting at $23.65 an hour
  • 18-month contract, with the possibility of extension
  • The person hired will work from Moncton but will occasionally travel in the province.
