Pay Equity Day 2009: Parties Asked about Position on Private Sector Legislation

We held a press conference on Friday November 27 in Fredericton to highlight Pay Equity Day, which is on November 29 every year. The four provincial political parties were invited to present their position on pay equity legislation in the private sector. The minister responsible for the Status of Women, Mary Schryer (Liberal Party) asked a public servant to read a speech on her behalf. Margaret-Ann Blaney, represented the Progressive Conservative Party and Julie Michaud represented the New Democratic Party as an executive member.
