Soup for Solidarity: An International Women’s Day Event

5 pm, Thursday, March 8th, 2012

Centenary-Queen Square United Church, 215 Wentworth Street, Saint John
- Media advisory -
The Saint John Regional Committee of the New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity is presenting Soup for Solidarity: Help put the pay back into Pay Equity NOW!
The focus is to raise awareness and take action with contract workers in the four sectors of Childcare, Group Home, Home Care, and Transition House who are awaiting the results of pay equity exercises on Budget Day.
“We want to reach out to women and men working in these sectors and acknowledge their important work for vulnerable populations and raise our voices for pay equity in this budget,” said Gail Taylor, Chair of the Saint John Regional Committee, New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity.
The meal is free and open to workers in the four sectors and allies for pay equity – children are welcome. Media are invited for a bowl of soup to get the inside story on the action.
