Salary: From $26 to $31 an hour, based on current pay scale
Status: May 20, 2025 - March 31, 2026
Contract: 35 hours per week for 10 months, with possibility of extension
OVERVIEW
Under the Executive Director’s supervision, the Training and Communications Officer will offer training sessions on pay equity and job evaluations to municipalities and regional service commissions in particular (RSC). She will coordinate Pay Equity is Coming to Town!, a project started in November 2023 which is funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada. She will also be responsible for the NB Coalition for Pay Equity communications tools and contribute to the Coalition’s group activities.
OUR MISSION
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITITES
Training and mobilization
- With an Advisory Committee’s support, develop and pursue approaches adapted to municipalities and RSCs’ needs, to prepare them to conduct pay equity exercises
- Promote pay equity to municipalities and RSCs
- Organize a provincial training tour for municipalities and RSCs
- Give pay equity and job evaluations training sessions
Communications and advocacy
- Create content and graphics in both official languages to promote and communicate the Coalition’s mission (newsletter, social media, website, activities)
- Give presentations on pay equity
- Develop an action guide to equip our members for public dialogue on pay equity
Related tasks
- Help organize Coalition’s group activities
- Perform administrative duties required to support the Coalition
SKILL SET
Requisite skills
- Relevant bachelor’s degree: business administration with a major in human resources management, adult education, communications, feminist studies, industrial relations or any other relevant field
General skills
- Bilingualism
- Excellent communications skills in both official languages, oral and written
- Great aptitude for teamwork and working in partnership
- Outstanding planning and organizational skills
- Initiative and autonomy
- Strong knowledge of social platforms
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license
Assets
- Knowledge of human resources management, pay equity and job evaluations
- Knowledge of women’s and gender issues in the labour market
- Knowledge of NB municipalities’ structure and functioning
Other requirements
- Adhere to NB Coalition for Pay Equity’s mission and vision
- If necessary, attend training sessions on pay equity and job evaluations at the employer’s expense
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Feminist environment
- Office located at 236 St. George Street, in Moncton
- Flexible hours but occasional obligatory evening and weekend work
- Occasional travel across the province
- Three weeks of vacation and twelve days of paid sick leave per year (pro rata)
