Joanne Wright (PhD) is a professor of Political Science at the University of New Brunswick, where she began teaching in 2005. She has been an academic administrator serving in several capacities, including as the Coordinator of the Gender and Women's Studies program, the Associate Dean of Arts, and most recently, Dean of Arts. Committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, she has been a member of a number of university committees dedicated to EDI initiatives. In addition, Joanne was a member of the Gender Diversity in Politics committee that recommended changes to committee structures and processes for the Fredericton City Council in 2019. She also participated in a national "Parity of Politics" initiative that was led by Informed Opinions in 2022, where she worked to increase the number of op-eds written by women on topics related to women, gender equality, and politics.
