Executive Director: Johanne Perron
Johanne Perron has been the Executive Director of the New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity since 2001. She is interested in social justice, in particular women’s equality. She has a B.A. in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University and a Masters degree in Environmental Studies from the Université de Moncton. In her paid and volunteer work, she has been involved with various organizations such as the Regroupement féministe du Nouveau-Brunswick, Canada World Youth, Oxfam, the Common Front for Social Justice and the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation.
Public Affairs and Communications: Rachel Richard
Rachel Richard received a bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Political Sciences from l’Université de Moncton and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from King’s College University. She coordinated the Coalition's Community Action project to amplify women’s voice for pay equity in the private sector between June 2017 and December 2019, and is now responsible for the Coalition’s public affairs and communications. In addition to her occupation at the Coalition, she currently volunteers on the Board of Directors for both the Common Front for Social Justice and the Frye Festival.
Project Coordinator: Sophie Huguet
Passionate about the relationships between societies and their territories, Sophie Huguet graduated in geography and environmental management. Over the past two decades, she has held various positions in both the public and private sectors, between France and Canada. Specifically, she has worked for non-profit organizations for over 10 years. Her various professional experiences have led her to work with a wide variety of partners and audiences.
Project Leader: Angel Ward
Angel Ward is a Mi'gmag businesswoman and a proud member of both the Micmacs of Gesgapegiag and Metepenagiag, dedicated to sustainable development in Mi'gma'gi and Wolastoqiyik communities. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours in Accounting from the University of New Brunswick, and multiple certifications in strategic planning, financial statement analysis, and completed one year of the CPA program. Angel has significantly contributed to Aboriginal economic development through leadership roles on the boards of AFOA and CANDO. As Director of Economic Development, she secured substantial federal and provincial grants, boosting community prosperity. Her initiatives in First Nations tourism, retail, and fisheries have led to job creation in Gesgapegiag.
