Brandy Stanovich

Ms. Brandy Stanovich is the MMIGW2S+ Manager, and Chelsea Lodge Advisor of the Native Women's Association of Canada (NWAC). She volunteers her time as President of the Indigenous Women of the Wabanaki Territory in New Brunswick, and in July 2022, was elected 2nd Vice President of the NWAC. She is a member of the Indigenous Women's Circle of Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) and is a long-standing advocate for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, having taken on cases that affect Indigenous communities at local, national, and international levels. She works adamantly to raise public awareness and action on Canada's genocide, and she has supported several initiatives during her time at the NWAC, such as the Change the Bill initiative, language, art, MMIWG2S+, and Resiliency Lodges. Brandy is also dedicated to the protection of indigenous languages, having worked with Woodstock First Nation to help create a Wolastoqey language curriculum for students and families. She studied in the Maliseet Immersion Program at St. Thomas University as well as the Aboriginal Visual Arts program with the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design.
